Detailed description

In Central America, many families cook meals relying on traditional stoves that are tough on the environment and their health. This nonprofit project in Honduras brings a new type of stove to communities that are cleaner, more efficient and safer. Local Hondurans call the stoves “Dos Por Tres” or “In an Instant” because of how fast the stoves operate to save wood, time and eliminate smoke from households. The stoves themselves are estimated to eliminate 3 tonnes of carbon per stove per year, and so far, the project has installed over 210,000 stoves impacting the lives of over 874,000 people.
